除了無色無味的「雜技」的意思， 把戲還是一個貶義詞， 指花招， 為欺騙、哄騙對方而采用的一種卑鄙狡猾的計策或計謀， 而 child‘s play 中的 play 是一個名詞， 它沒有這個用法， 因此 child’s play 不能譯作「小把戲」。
